This is a full set of instructions on how to upgrade a MXL 990 microphone with an Austin Ribbon Microphone ribbon element.

There's a PDF included in the files of the entire build.
It includes 3D printable brackets for the ribbon motor (element), and OTA transformer. Cutting guides for the ribbon and a 3D printable ribbon alignment jig, which greatly helps getting the ribbon installed, aligned and tensioned.
More coming. I've got a ribbon alignment jig for an MXL R80, and an MXL R144, in addition to some enhancements to those mics.
