CAUTION: If you are using the stock bearing sandwich idlers on the front, you will need to add an extra slightly smaller washer underneath the 1st big washer.
The gantry of the X5s is pretty wobbly, due to the short wheel base on the brackets and the lack of fixture support on the x rail. Fortunately, the X5s has quite a lot of spare rail hidden away at the front, and the only thing in the way is the X end stop!
By redesigning the X endstop bracket, I was able to extend the wheel base by twice the original, from 45mm to 90mm, and it makes a heck of a difference. The gantry is so rigid now, that it was pretty clear my whole frame was slightly skewed, and I was able to use the assembled gantry as a guide to re-square my frame.
It also has mega solid braces for the x-bar, mounting at 4 points each side on 2 planes, for ultimate alignment and stiffness.
The new X endstop design also removes the need for some silly extra spacer on the bed for the Z endstop, it is now positioned to just touch the frame of the bed.
I will get round to a more detailed parts and instructions list, but for now you can reuse most of the stock boltrs, you will need an extra;
8x 5mm washer (no wheel spacers required, but does need a 1mm washer)
2x M5 x 50 bolt (for the idler pulleys)
4x M3 x 30 bolts (for the back side braces)
4x v-slot nut things (for the back side braces, don't know the correct name for them)
Print as already oriented in the STL files, no supports needed.
I will also be uploading my e3d-v6 mount soon shown in the pictures, that combines a belt straighter for the 2 very unaligned belts on the extruder.
