My young great-grandson loves dinosaurs, so what better than making an animated one for
him. I already have a few designs for Anomata on Thingiverse so this one was to be slightly different
in that all the parts are plastic and it does not require any steel pins for the pivots, except for a couple of No 6 screws to hold the Fence in place as this allows me to get at the mechanism if
anything goes wrong.
I used ABS for all the parts but I'm sure PLA would work just as well, most of it is printed with 0.2mm
layer height but I did go down to 0.14 mm for all of the mechanism and Gear parts.
The assembly is straight forward and is detailed on the next pages, I have shown the assembly
from the bottom up but as long as you press and fit the correct pieces together you can do it any
the sequence you like.
I have sized the parts to achieve the fits required but of course, your printer may well be different to
mine so you may have to solvent bond or file and drill to achieve the same thing.
I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.
If you like this as a project maybe you would like my main project line which is wooden clocks. if so take a look at www.woodenclocks.co.uk
