The model created is meant to be similar to a miniaturized bookshelf; it has a compact size and is designed to hold student’s books or notebooks in separate spaces to keep students organized. Each cut in the model is meant to accommodate for students with books of varying sizes: one large book at the bottom, two medium books in the middle section above the large section, and three cutouts for somewhat smaller books. Each cut also provides enough room for most student’s hands to reach in and extract there desired books. Most issues came up in design, as I am fairly new to using SolidWorks. Another issue I had was coming up with an appropriate thickness for the shelves of my model as I was somewhat unsure of the material that would be used to make up its shell. As far as redesign, I would most likely add a shelf underneath the bottom cutout of the model since if the organizer were to be used on a floor; a book placed in this spot would also be sitting on said floor. If 3D printing was used, the model would be ideally rotated so that its current back face would become its bottom face, then be built up from there. I suppose, depending on the filament used, the model would become more robust and sturdy, or fragile, as opposed to creating the model out of another material, such as wood.
