QX06 Pegboard Ashtray with Snuffers
This is my first entry into my PEGBOARD MADNESS collection of designs.
The PEGBOARD MADNESS concept consists of a modular male pegboard adaptor that various objects can be adapted to. I’ve included STEP files of the objects created here so that you can modify and adapt to your liking, or incorporate into your own design. Please let me know if you do! I’d love to see them!
I’m giving a REMIX SHOUT OUT to “variador” and the “AC Adaptor Organizer” that was uploaded. Of all the pegs that I’ve designed or downloaded, Variador’s method has proved the best all-around so far. I re-designed them in Fusion 360 so they can be manipulated easier – for me, anyway – in a CAD environment.
This ashtray was designed to be aesthetically pleasing, and the design process was simply two profile sketches on the X/Z plane swept along a sketched path on the XY plane. If you use Fusion 360 and you would be interested in joining that project, let me know. I’ve never done it before, but I’d be interested in trying this form of collaboration and exploration.
This ashtray STL was sliced and coded using ReplicatorG employing 2 shells (3 total) using PLA.
FlashForge Creator Pro (Similar to Makerbot Replicator 2)
Custom Profile that allows supports without rafts
Heated Bed 45 Celsius
Blue Painters Tape on bed, no further treatment
Print Temperature 220 degrees Celsius
Feedrate 40 mm/s
Travel Feedrate 55
(If anybody has more optimum feedrates, please share!)
The Male Pegboard Adaptor was printed with CLEAR PET. I used the exact same settings as I do for PLA, and it works well.
SMOKE ‘EM IF YA GOTTEM!
REQUEST: Please help me improve my sharing! STEP files have proven reliable for me to transport file between different CAD platforms. If STEPs are a problem for you, please let me know what other common and relatively generic Cad format works better for you.
