(Designer's note: I ran out of my INLAND PLA+ Peak Green filament, so the other color you see is INLAND PLA+ True Red...I actually think they go together nicely, makes it pop)
This is my first dive into creating and designing anything for 3d printing or even with CAD software. I love Board Gaming and board gaming is what got me into 3d printing. So, here's my first contribution to the community in hopes of spurring others to play board games, and to perhaps design their own things for other board games. (Highly recommend TINKERCAD for new designers, very simple and fast to learn, it's what designed this)
This design was meant to match the design of the board game itself...Porta Insert_1 was designed to look the same as the board when playing....square board, circular rondel for how people move around, separated into 4 quadrants for different areas of play. Sounded great, but after printing out I realized it only held so many of the pieces, and the quadrants made it hard to pull anything out from. So I kept the design but for the other insert, Porta Insert_2, I redesigned to hold all other pieces by taking out the quadrants, doubling the tower piece holders, and designing two removable boxes for the player pieces and other bits.
Admittedly, it is a little tight to fit the player pieces and bits into their areas, but with a small amount of stacking it all fits (especially when you put starting money with player pieces) ...one of the quadrants in Porta Insert_1 is mostly empty and can hold any pieces such as the plastic standees and cardboard horse riders etc....
How I fit everything is by leaving the original insert in the box (makes for minimum of 3d printing material)...put all cards except for Player cards in Insert_1, and everything else in Insert_2 with the Player cards sliding on on each side of the Player Box and Bits Box that are inside Insert_2. The Player Box and Bits Box can come out and be set on the table to hold the bits, and with the player pieces used in a game, the Player Box can double on other side of table for holding half of the bits if needed for accessibility.
You will need to print out one of each:
