Shanghai-World Grand Prix of China. The Grand Prix World Series stays in Asia and heads to China for the 20th race of the year. The title battle is really hotting up, with 4 drivers still realistically in with a shout. Driver changes: Perez races for Aston Martin as part of rotation, Mentalist gets his Ferrari seat back from Grosjean, Takuma Sato is replaced by reserve driver Yamamoto after an injury in the previous race and Newportman Reserve Nico Lehms races instead of Kohl (due to IndyCar) and Villa (racing in GP2000). Alvaro Parente claims a crucial pole position.----Alvaro Parente wins a very wet World GP of China. He lost the lead early on to the fast starting Adam Carroll, but when Carroll spun exiting the pits, Parente retook the initiative. Carroll gradually lost pace as the race went on and finished in 9th place. Ahead of Carroll was an intense fight for the podium, including 3 title contenders. Anthony Davidson managed to hold off Fisichella for 2nd, while Graham Rahal completed a great weekend with 4th. Newportman stand-in, Nico Lehms got 5th on his debut, ahead of Andre Lotterer, scoring his first points for Audi. Matthew Wood was fast all weekend, but had no luck and finished in 7th. Behind him was the popular de la Rosa, getting his first points for many races with 8th. Paul Tracy had a fantastic battle with his old Champ Car rival, Bourdais. His hard work was rewarded with 10th place and PTC's first point.
