I have holiday lights displayed on decorative wire frames during December, animated by a light controller. (Controller turns lights on/off to make them appear to be animated... santa throwing gifts, and an elf decorating a stocking (shown)).
These "clips" hold 2 different dimension "mini" light bulbs (I use incandescent, but these will likely work with LED). One design is more "rectangular" (clip A) in shape, the other which is more "round" (clip B2) in shape... you'll need to pick the one that most closely represents your light string. Both designs allow for a little larger on one end than the other (light bulb casing narrows near the wire), and this allows these to fit a variety of bulbs, as sliding the bulb down in these will tighten them down.
All are designed to clip tightly into a 12.5 gauge galvanized metal wire which I use as a frame for these light sculptures. I obtained this wire at a local farm and ranch store.
If you want to learn about the lighting controller, I use Renard SS24 controllers designed by and build kits provided through http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page (Warning, it can be addictive, expensive and time consuming... but so cool).
Good luck, and happy decorating.
