Description: After being in an orbital mothball station for twenty years, the Ginian Symbiont Class Star ships were given an extensive refit and overhaul. The USS Sherry (named after the former Queen of Alexandria) was the first of these cruisers to receive such an overhaul. Her overall frame was reduced from just over 1200 feet, to just at 1150 feet in length; but this decrease comes with an added benefit of being more maneuverable than the original Symbiont Class. Her original quantum nacelles were replaced with more powerful nacelles that can jump the ship through quantum space using only a third of its quantum energy in her core. Her weaponry was also replaced. The eight turrets were replaced with a whole new weapon suite. twenty-five new auto pulse turrets (almost 3 times as much than a standard symbiont class ship) give the USS Sherry, a substantial defense, while seventeen of those turrets are dedicated to defend the ship against enemy Star fighters, the six that run along the inner pylons are dedicated to defend the USS Sherry against other starships. The two forward turrets on the forward ventral side are a pair of experimental quantum rail cannons. These deadly weapons uses the ships quantum matrix drive system to fire either energy or projectile blasts through quantum space to deal crippling blows to enemy ships. These cannons are so powerful that they can take down large capital ships and even dreadnoughts, however, the drawback to these cannons is that they overload the ships main Janinite power grid to a point where the ship is completely vulnerable for 50 seconds while the power grid reboots itself. One of the most vulnerable spots of the symbiont class ships was widely addressed in this refit and that was her bridge. The bridge was redesigned immensely, the 'pilot' of the does not operate on top of the quantum matrix core anymore. Instead the bridge was designed so that the 'pilot' and bridge command crew can work together in tandem to run the ship together. While the USS Sherry was meant to be a deep space exploration cruiser and does normal operations for the United Ginian Federation, she's also used as the personal star ship for the Alexandrian Royal Family. The USS Sherry has earned her a slew of nicknames; but the most famous of them all, is 'The Impenetrable Star-Fortress of Alexandria' as she is well built to withstand anything the enemy throws at her (similar to the Alexandrian Castle on Ginia) and she'll ensure the survival of her five hundred-fifty crew complement and anyone else that flies with her.
