My first intention with this design was to produce a more efficient cold end shroud that would allow me to use a buck converter and 5015 fan to reduce the noisiest part of my printer. This worked really well and at 12 volts the fan is much quieter than the standard part, while still cooling the heat sink properly. The two 5015 part cooling fans can also be run at slower speeds while producing much better cooling compared to the original parts.
I also wanted to design the shroud and ducts to provide better visibility of the nozzle. This also allows you to get a spanner around the hot end to support it while changing a nozzle.
Finally, I integrated drag chains and a support for the x axis gantry for better cable management. I am also working on a support for y axis drag chains and will update this when I have all the kinks worked out.
