These were some of the original Beman-designed factory buildings at the Car Works. The three warehouses, built in the 1880s, were pulled down to make way for the Design Center which is still on this site. Since very few photographs exist of these shops, and none whatsoever of the facade of the Tool Shop, I had to make some guesses, however, the model adequately depicts what Beman had in mind for this site. This model also includes the Allen Wheel Works smokestack, which seems to have existed for about 15 years in the early 20th century.
