MSX/R Taipan GTX 450 fastback (S71)

The Taipan name is back on the new S7 series GTX and GTX/R. The GTX will come in 3 versions: the 450, 510 and 675 in sedan or fastback, which now has a shorter wheelbase. This is the 450, with a 5.2L supercharged V8 producing 450hp@6000rpm and 575Nm@2600rpm availiable with a 6 speed manual or DCG and a limited slip diff with a choice of 2 ratios on the manual. The suspension on all S7s is a double wishbone front and multi link rear with MRC standard across the Taipan range, improving both ride quality and handling over the S6, which had double wishbones all round. Other improvements include improved fuel efficiency over the old COBRA V8, and more interior space. The GTX 450 will cost AU$75,900 or US$45,600, alost as much as a Shelby GT500, but with it's independant rear suspension, this would be faster on a race track.
