I designed this 'Filament Path Constrainer' for the Microswiss Extruder which is compatible with the CR10, Tevo Tornado, etc.
This fills the stupidly large gap in between the extruder gears and the PTFE tube holder, to fully constrain the filament path and prevent filaments from buckling at that point.
The main purpose of this upgrade was to achieve more reliable printing with flexibles (e.g. TPU), which it does indeed help with.. The main benefit however is more consistent extrusion, as stock even PLA bends slightly in that zone, causing an increase in pressure between the gears and the hotend, which results in a less consistent extrusion width, causing a poor surface finish on the outer walls of the print.
This filament path constrainer (let me know if you think of a better name) is printed using a resin printer. personally I used a Creality DLP resin printer. This part is just too small to use FDM, so please don't blame me if you try it and it doesn't work.. You may need to experiment with exposure, if you find that the filament isn't going through smoothly or it is stopping the gears from turning then you may need to reduce your exposure settings.. personally I found that when using Anycubic basic resin, I only needed a 5 second exposure time.
Hopefully this helps you, please let me know if it does!
