Needed somewhere to put my flight controller on my second VAS Banshee, so I built this.
it fits the on the bottom side of the airplane, just have to cut out the EEP buckout for the ESC.
Its close to but a bit aft of the CG on this plane. I used M3 screws from the underside of the of the print to attach short stand offs to hold the FC.
Look at the pictures and you can see how I cut the EPP. The Lid is held in place with #2x 1/2" screws from the hardware store. The sides are open to allow you to still attach a USB to the FC (and in my case, the FTDI to the on board OSD)
The FC is on here just so that I can run Sbus from my ImmersionRC EZUHF and so that I can Have an OSD with the GPS. I have yet to fly this airplane, but I have done a ton of flying with my other banshee, and it's a wonderful plane for flying. I always get the question, "how fast are you flying?" With this setup I will have an answer.
I printed in hatchbox bule ABS, because that's what I had loaded on the printer.
I do suggest that you either pre-install the FC or print a mock-up to hold the standoffs in the event that you slightly bend the box when you glue it in.
I also included the Sketchup 2016 file, if you want to modify or change the design, in that file I also have a stacker box for the GPS and FC chip, (which I printed, and it looks good, but I couldn't figure out where to install it on the airplane.)
The clack tubes you see installed in the airplane are carbon fiber arrow shafts that I used both as wire chases and as spars. This plane likes to tear in half right where the fuselage connects to the wings. so I put 2 arrow shafts down the length of the fuselage. i plan to run my camera wires through one and power to the camera and the VTX through the other.
