DIY Hand Dredge Pump

This is my design of a DIY hand dredge pump (see link below for original inspiration). The motivation behind this is that I wanted to make this more affordable.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQFXjMorOO8&t=28s
In the end this design cost me about $75, which is way less than the typical $175 options out there.
BOM:
For the pump and sluice tube I used 2"x36" pvc pipes. I made them extra long so I can get deep in a river if need be.
For the handle and piston I used 1" diameter pvc pipes
