55 gallon barrel bung lid with barbs by Overshocked

This is a lid/cap that will fit into the threading of a 55 gallon or 30 gallon barrel. The design includes a barb on both the inside and the outside of the lid.
With this design you can attach a hose on the inside that will reach to the bottom of the barrel, and a second hose that comes out of the top and attaches to a pump. I use a standard siphon pump but you should be able to use an electric pump as well.
Both of the barbs accept a 5/8 OD, 1/2" ID hose. One the inside I would suggest securing the hose to the barb with a cable tie or a hose clamp. I would also suggest using either a weight for the tube (so that it sinks to the bottom), or a rigid PVC exterior so that it is kept straight.
