Model Updates:

Added a 54mm 'straight' adapter that allows for a separate avionics bay and because of the additional length it doesn't interfere with the view. The holes in the side are for both atmospheric venting and maybe access to your flight computer. (but mostly for the venting)

54mm Offset base has been added. A friend wanted to fly one on a 54mm air frame so I developed this offset base. It needed to be offset so the adapter wouldn't obscure the camera's view. It's looks a little strange but it flies perfectly.

Both the base and the camera sled have been tweaked to fit better. The 3.1 updates are the only changes at this time.

Mike Dorffler (pictured above) in the early 70s designed for Estes Industries the 'Cineroc' a super 8mm film camera you could fly on a model rocket. That camera captured the imaginations of many young rocket scientist (like me).

I've postponed publishing this long enough - going to start here and update this with more details shortly. I will be posting a construction video - stay tuned.
Only the camera sled requires using supports - everything else can be printed without them.
The camera sled is specifically designed to work the components from a Matecam 808 and is unlikely to work with any other 808 system. (but could)

By default the MateCAM does not record on power-up, you need to
1) Start the camera with an SD card installed
2) Connect the camera to a PC and edit the TAG.txt file - change the 'poweron_record' option from 0 to 1 (as seen below)

Note: I used a small section of Fiber optic rod (Truglo TG05E) to help make the camera's LED easier to see. You can see it in the camera sled closeup picture.

You will need a 6.5" length of 6-32 all thread - but you don't have to if you're comfortable with gluing the top on or using tape. You can use an actual 6-32 nut if you want, but I wanted something bulkier and easily tighten by hand, so I made the thumb nob.
