Named for Count Ferdinand Zeppelin, a pioneer of dirigible design, the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was designed to hold a crew of 36, with space for 24 passengers plus freight and airmail. In its nine years of operation, from 1928-1937, it traversed the globe, becoming the first aircraft to log over a million miles. We pay tribute to this remarkable flying machine with our model, crafted of aluminum and polished to a high shine.

In the 1920s and '30s, there wasn't an aircraft manufacturer bigger than Fokker. Fokker planes flew the first nonstop flight across North America as well as the first trans-Pacific flight, carrying such notables as Admiral Byrd (as a navigator and expedition leader) and Amelia Earhart (as the first female passenger to fly across the Atlantic).
