Spanish match Gambit Jaenisch In this variant, proposed by Carl Jaenisch, Il Nero is not interested in the attack indirectly brought to the e5 pawn by the b5 bishop and counterattacks in the center by offering a pawn, along the lines of the Viennese counter-game. It must be said that White has no advantage in taking f5, since after 4.exf5 e4 the horse cannot be easily repositioned. White usually reacts by supporting the pawn on e4. This can be done in two ways: 4.d3 which leads to a more positional game 4.Cc3 which leads to a much sharper game. Possible development of the latter variant may be: 4… fxe4 5.Cxe4 d5 6.Cxe5 dxe4 7.Cxc6 Dg5 7… Dd5 with double-edged positions. #chess #open game #Gambit Jaenisch
