Description:
This adapter plates allows you to shoehorn the larger BLX185 ESC into the Arrma 3s and 4s vehicles. This mount fits on top of the stock receiver box and includes a place to mount the power switch.
PLEASE NOTE: This will not work with the Typhon 3s due to it's low profile body (ESCs cannot be mounted on top of the receiver box, there's no room).
There are two versions of this plate:
BLX185_3s_ReceiverBox_Mount.stl - Installs using the stock BLX185 mounting tabs to screw onto the adapter plate with M3 screws.
BLX185_3s_ReceiverBox_ZipTie_Mount.stl - This mount is for people like me who cut off the mounting tabs on their BLX185 and can no longer use screws to secure it and must rely on double sided tape/velcro/zip ties.
Plate Installation onto the Vehicle:
Remove the (2) screws holding down the lid of the stock receiver box but leave the lid in place. Next, place the adapter plate logo side up on top of the receiver box lid (the adapter plate should fall into place when centered correctly). Lastly, install the screws through the plate back down into the receiver box (sandwiching the receiver box lid between the plate and the box). **You may need to use longer M3 screws if the stock screws are too short***
To mount the power switch, position the switch so the mounting screw hole is facing the front of the vehicle, then align with the front screw hole on the mount and secure with a M3x6mm screw (the nub on the bottom of the power switch should fit into the second hole just like stock).
Mounting the BLX185:
For BLX185_3s_ReceiverBox_Mount.stl - Use (2) M3x6mm screws and align the screw holes with the holes in the mount. For best fit make sure to the face the motor wires to the outside of the vehicle.
For BLX185_3s_ReceiverBox_ZipTie_Mount.stl - Center the ESC on the plate and attach with double sided tape or velcro, then run a zip tie through the bottom channel of the mount and wrap around the ESC then secure it accordingly. For best fit make sure to the face the motor wires to the outside of the vehicle.
