Battery level indicator for the Blaupunkt Fiene/Fiete 500 pedelec battery
As nice as the Blaupunkt Fiete 500 pedelec is, there is one thing that bothers me: you can only read the current battery level when you put the battery in the bike and switch it on. Especially if you only ride short distances, you don't always want to fully charge the battery, you can only use the battery up to 80% and the next time you only ride up to 60% and at the latest at 10% you charge the battery again. If you have several batteries or can't (or don't want to) remember the status of the last battery, then this thing is just right for that.
After the tour, you can set the last battery status on the battery and thus know how full the battery still is when you ride again in 1-4 weeks.
The production is not for rough motorists or sausage finger fanatics - since the battery does not offer much mounting surface, everything is very very small and quite filigree.
First you print the basic framework and clean the whole thing from all supports, if necessary you can easily rework it with a small file.
You can create the lettering yourself or use the ready-made PDF. Print the whole thing in colour, laminate it and cut it out with a cutter knife - stick it on - done.
Sounds easier than it is, it's a real fiddly job.
The control button can also be printed in a different colour - but it is not necessary. Insert the slider from below and glue the button from above - ready is the adjustable 0-100% display for the battery.
The whole thing can be attached to the battery with Sugru, Pattex or Tesa Powerstrips, for example.

So schön das Blaupunkt Fiete 500 Pedelec auch ist, eines stört mich doch: Man kann den aktuellen Akkustand nur ablesen wenn man den Akku in das Fahrrad steckt und das Rad einschaltet. Gerade man man auch mal nur kleine kurze Strecken fährt will man nicht immer den Akku voll durchladen, man kann den Akku ja auch nur bis 80% nutzen und beim nächsten mal fährt man nur bis 60% und spätestens bei 10% lädt man den Akku mal wieder richtig voll. Wenn man mehrere Akkus hat oder sich nicht merken kann (oder will) wie der letzte Akku stand ist, dann ist dieses Ding genau das richtige dafür.
Man kann nach der Tour am Akku einstellen wie der letzte Akkustand war und so weiss man wie voll der Akku noch ist wenn man erst in 1-4 Wochen wieder fährt.
Die Herstellung ist nichts für Grobmotoriker oder Wurstfinger fanatiker - da der Akku nicht viel Montagefläche bietet ist das alles sehr sehr klein und recht Filigran.
Zuerst druckt man das Grundgerüst und befreit das ganze sauber von allen Supports, notfalls leicht mit einer kleinen Feile nachbearbeiten.
Die Beschriftung kann man selber erstellen oder auf das fertige PDF zurück greifen. Das ganze in Farbe ausdrucken, einlaminieren und mit dem Cuttermesser ausschneiden - aufkleben - fertig.
Klingt einfacher als es ist, es ist eine echte Frikelei.
Der Bedienknopf kann man auch in einer anderen Farbe drucken - ist aber nicht nötig. Den Schlider von unten einsetzen und von oben den Knopf festkleben - fertig ist die einstellbare 0-100% Anzeige für den Akku.
Das ganze kann man z.b. mit Sugru, Pattex oder Tesa Powerstrips am Akku befestigen.
