Inexpensive real-world build based on asian "plastic" version of OpenBuilds wheels.

Plasma cut steel Y trucks welded to X rail. Machined aluminum X truck. Bolt heads drilled and tapped for wheel axles. CNC cut cabinet. NEMA 17 steppers with GT2 belts and pulleys. NEMA 17 with 1/2" ACME lead and real Delrin anti-backlash nut on Z.

Accurate, fast, and quiet - 2nd or 3rd personal favorite of 50+ different 3D printer builds. Ended up putting thin layer of ceramic powder coating on the steel rails to prevent corrosion. Generic MK8 extruder. SKR controller, DRV8825 step Drivers, LCD2004 display, and 24V power supply.

Wheels (at least Asian version of Delrin) develop temporary flat spots with too much preload against rails when there is no motion for days/weeks. The flat spots appear to disappear during operation.
