Based on my previous WLED powered LED night light (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4816082), I shrunk the form factor to create a 1" x 2.5" puck light that can be stashed anywhere you need an accent light. This light is compatible with Home Assistant and the shades found on my night light page.
Build Instructions
Three simple parts to print, the puck base needs to be printed on a raft with support. The other parts can be printed normally. A little bit of hot glue secures the LED Ring to the base and once you've fed the wires through, put a spot of glue in the hole to secure them there.
The resistor that I used for the LED ring is 330 ohms.
Flip the base over and solder your leads to the Wemos D1 using the circuit diagram provided. Make sure that the processor faces down when you do this. Once wired up, slip the D1 into the processor plate. A dab of hot glue will help secure the D1 in the plate. Now line up the notches and snap the processor plate into the puck base and the puck shade over the LED's and you're done.
Programming
You can either program it with ESPHome or with WLED. Either way is compatible with Home Assistant.
I went the WLED route and there are several ways to do this listed here: https://github.com/Aircoookie/WLED/wiki/Install-WLED-binary.
The binary you will need is the WLED_x.x.x_ESP8266.bin for Wemos D1 mini, the processor used here.
Pro Tip: make sure you have a good USB data cable. There are a lot of crap cables out there.
