Improved Wireless Charging Stand for Phones (With f3d for easy customization)
Improvements:
Made a better, more stable and stronger base
Redesigned the base to insert 5.8mm Hex Allen keys as weights
I had many of these Allen keys as they come with a lot of furnitures.
If you have any other size or a different metal object, please feel free to change it in the f3d file, before you print.
I used an angle grinder to cut the allen keys to size.
Also, it should be easy to change the dimensions a bit based on your phone style.
Note: I recommend printing the main charger STL first, and then adjust the groove in the base, based on the final thickness of the main print (As the thickness differs due to the "sqish").
Note: Please print the base flat on it's side for best results. No supports required.
Description:
Works with iPhones, Samsung Phones and other Androids.
I inserted a generic Qi Wireless Charging PCB & Coil Inside the Print.
The electronics go inside the "Coil Cover" part.
You could add some super glue to keep things together.
And then insert the entire cover into the main body and you can glue it in.
Please check all measurements of your electronics and your phone to ensure everything is a perfect fit.
f3d file included for easy customization.
This is a single coil charger, and so while it is very efficient, it requires proper centering to charge fast.
I would print each part separately for best results.
And you could use different infill settings for each part.
The "Main" & the "Peg" parts must have 90% to 100% infill.
The base must have atleast 15% infill.
I didn't really need to pre-drill into the stand, but you could do so.
And the "Peg" is required only if you are using it in a car for GPS, to hold the phone in place.
Also, I coated the base of the stand and the surface on which the phone sits, with some silicone for better grip and stability.
It is a very efficient and reliable charging stand with a robust design.
I know you can find these super cheap in Amazon.
The coil and PCB actually came out of one I bought off Amazon, but the Amazon product broke within days.
So, I built this and soldered a proper braided cable straight to the board for best results.
This is working great!
