Want to neatly hang your electrical wire spools at your workbench but still need to be able to easily grab them?
This twist on the traditional dowel based hanging system makes it possible to hang each spool off its own dowel. Need to grab a spool to use elsewhere? Just lift it off the hanger, put the dowel back, and go.
No more having to pull 5 spools off a dowel to get to the one you want.
The hanger design accommodates a dowel on each side, allowing you to chain together as many spools as you wish.

Printing and Assembly Tips
Choose a Version
R1 is the version shown in the video and is more compact. It can comfortably hold spools up to 80mm in diameter.
R2 is a revised version that can hold spools up to 100mm in diameter and is easier to assemble because the hole under the hook is at 45 degrees. It is 12.7mm (1/2" taller).
You want R2 unless you are short on vertical space. You can't mix R1 and R2 hooks together.
Required Parts:
Print as many hooks as you have spools to hang plus one.
Each hook requires 2 screws. R1 needs one 1" and one 3/4" screw. R2 needs one 1.25" screw and one 1.5" screw. Longer screws are fine if you have thicker material.
For each spool cut a piece of dowel that is at least the length of the spool + 12.7mm (1/2")
Printing Tips:
I printed mine using PETG. Remember that strength comes from perimeters. The heavier your spools, the more perimeters you should use for nice durable hooks.
Print flat on its side with bridging enabled. No supports needed.
