This is a new version of the wing system I created back in 2017, now more printable and modular than ever!
(V1.0 - August 10, 2020):
Features:
More mounting options for front and rear wing
Much more durable wing design, can handle flips easily now
More downforce
Much easier to print (No supports needed!)
Lower print time, less filament wasted/needed
Better rear wing mounting system: can now fit larger motors and holds wing on tighter
Fits perfectly onto the rear bumper mount while also allowing the traxxas wheelie bar to be mounted with extra M3 screws
INSTRUCTIONS:
Print 1 of all models beginning with RW or FW with 20% infill and 2 perimeters (normal settings) with any material, NO SUPPORTS, flat on the build plate.
Front Wing: Take the FW Mount and screw it into where the stock bumper goes. Then, line up the front wing with the U-shaped brackets and slide it on. It will be a snug fit depending on what tolerances your printer can handle. If you have issues with the mount turning one way or another on impact with the ground, then screw it into the 3rd and 4th screw hole in the front bulkhead. It should work with the stock screws.
Rear Wing: Do not print with supports. It is designed to be a snug fit with the overhangs on the inside helping with that. Screw RW Mount L & R onto the rear bumper mount (where the wheelie bar goes) with the stock screws. The tabs on the mounts should be facing towards the front of the car. Then, take the wing and slide the tabs into the holes. It takes some force at first, but it should come off easily if your printer has good tolerances.
Wheelie Bar mount: There are 4 extra holes in the back of the mounts to mount the wheelie bar onto. I used 4 extra M3 screws lying around, any length should do. Mount as illustrated in the pictures with the rear wing.
If you need any help or have a suggestion, comment on this thing and I'll answer as soon as possible. Also, consider posting a make of this if you do print it. It's really cool to see what people do with my models.
