Hello everybody,

For this project to collect and conserve water, I was inspired by nature (baobabs and Sequoias) and the techniques used in desert areas.

1- Collection technique:
1.1- Inverted umbrella system, covering the largest possible area within the limitations of human effort.
1.2- Double system of sifted domes for the recovery of fog water for each "flower" (inverted umbrella for the recovery of the water accumulated in the dome by the force of gravity).
1.3- All the water is collected by a system of sliding at an angle and thanks to the force of gravity. The system is hided by the branches of the tree.

2- Conservation technique:
2.1- The water conservation in a tank of approximately 1000 Liters.
2.2- The tap of the water tank (with water pressure system) is located in height (0.4m from the level of the floor) to favor the filling of buckets or others.
2.3- A filtering system (cleanable boxes) guarantees that the water in the tank will be free of dirt stranger corps (specks, dusts, tree leaves).
2.4- The system of evacuation of excess water (holes in the tank and the tank cover) so that in case of excess of collection, the water does not climb to the collector system.
2.5- The coating system allows us to have the tank at a certain height to access the water collected only using the gravity and provides an extra thermal protection to the water stored in the tank.
2.6- Measuring system to see the water level in the tank.

3- Materials:
3.1- The tank and filter will be made in aluminum and with an internal coating to guarantee the non-contamination of the water by the aluminum.
3.2- The two parts of the "trunk" and "branches" are made of high resistance plastics and non-polluting for the water that circulates through them.
3.3- The "bouquet" and "flowers" are made of plastic material.
3.4- The "petals" (the domes) and the "filter" are made with sieve.
3.5- The "Stem" for being the piece of more complex form, is preferable to be manufactured with 3D printing out system. (without the inverted umbrella disk).

4- Visual:
4.1- The shape of a tree allows it to be placed as urban furniture without denaturing the environment. It can be used in homes (in gardens and roofs) in cities (parks and avenues) and in natural spaces (such as forests, mountains and meadows).

5- Advantages and applications:
5.1- Easy incorporation in natural environment, already mentioned in visual (we can see the background in the CAD design).
5.2- The possibility of readapting the product, increasing or decreasing its measures or increasing the number and levels of branches for areas of high fog activity according to the needs.
5.3- Securing applications, arising from the shape of the product. (as for example: integration of light system in aimed at using in cities downtown as public lighting and rainwater collection).
