Ok guys, here is my next thing. Let's get right to it. At home, I do have a very nice Philips steam broom that cleans up my tile floor very thoroughly. My wife really enjoys it. The broom itself has a detachable water tank in it. So recently this water tank cap got cracked. I first wanned to glue it together but that didn't help much, it cracked again after several usages. I then tried to find something similar in the internet but that wasn't successful, so I made a decision to take precise measurement of what is left and draw that baby in AutoCAD.
If you have the same problem with your water tank cap you need to do the following. First of all, this cap has a check valve in it, so you need to tear down your old cap and take out the internals that includes a spring with a small white ball attached to it and a white rubber spacer. Please make sure to take out the white rubber washer on the other side as well (the one that seals between the cap and the tank itself)
It is also recommended to print this thing using SLS technology for best results. I used FDM printing as we don't have any SLS machines here in town but if that breaks next time I will order SLS printing online. FDM is still ok, the cap is functional but the appearance and strength is not that great as with SLS.
The thing consists of two parts: the main body and the insert that you will have to glue into the main body top (after you put this little spring and rubber spacer back). The insert has a very snug fit, so please use a needle file for any diameter adjustment. As for the glue, I would recommend using Abro Epoxy Steel glue. It has the fastest kwik-set and works the best. Then all you need to do is to install your rubber washer back and you are good to go!
Hope that will help you guys!
