I was contracted by a Tech startup to design, source, and build a mobile tech demonstrator for a flagship software demo the company was going to debut at SuperComputing 2018 (SC18')

I had nearly complete design authority on this project, which really helped speed things along.

There were some requirements that had to be met
- 100% transportable through standard airlines.
- Easily moved through a hotel/conference center.
- Had to 'Pop' and catch people's eye.
- Easily disassembled for remote maintenance.
- Drives and banks must be removable/easily disabled.
- Plus some other impossible things I'm likely forgetting.

The amazing difficulty was that I had exactly 30 days from the time the order was placed, to the day the item needed to be completely ready to be put on an airplane.

This was no small feat. I had to design the entire thing from scratch, sort and coordinate the fabrication and materials vendors, the electrical components, the hardware and then work out the assembly. There was 0 room for error and there was absolutely no time for reworks or revamps.

It took a solid week to design the box at first.
Then 9 different fabrication and materials companies had to be coordinated to get all the pieces made and delivered which took 2 weeks.
Then there was one final week of assembly with the help of two interns.

All in all an insane project that was amazingly delivered on time.

I can't go into the tech/software that was actually demonstrated, but it did have something to do with extremely high parity real time erasure encoding.
