Was browsing and searching for a mount bracket that I could use to mount the 2.5W blue laser to my wan hao to do some laser cutting of double sided tape for car badges (longer story). I came across a different design but down in the comments he gave a link to all the original files (which included the i3's metal extruder main x-carriage bracket). It was from OnCAD, so once I figured out how to export it to something Fusion 360 could understand, I began to further the guys design into a laser mount. All the other guys bodies should be there, just disabled, it was an extruder mount of some kind.
I designed the laser module and mount, have included the .f3d files as well as the .step/.stl's for the whole project in case you want to remix it for your needs. It's designed to use the parts fan wires to fire the LASER on/off. It uses 3/16" Rare Earth Magnets (from Radioshack), but also has the i3's two screw holes in case you cant get a hold of similar magnets for faster mounting.
To use this you will need to unscrew the hot end assembly from the main x-carriage bracket with the two M3's that attach the hot end to the bracket, same screws could be used to mount the LASER bracket.
To mount the LASER to this bracket you should use 12 mm M3 screws (flat head). But other M3 screws would also work. Threads shouldn't exceed much beyond 13 mm from face of bracket into LASER body. I'll update if I can find what links I used to get to the i3 main bracket to speed up my development time, thanks Mr Guy for the share of your wanhao i3 bracket.
