Hi guys,
This is a cage for use with my W2D-IV Baja racer in conjunction with the trailing arm mod and the Redcat XR247 Axle kit (Wendigo axles). I kind of want to do a proper chassis for this because the mod was intended for testing geometry, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it. The mod is working pretty well, so there you go.
The only change to the W2D-IV chassis is the front cross brace (CH_Cross_Brace.stl), which has holes for the cage mounts to slide into.

I highly recommend printing this out of TPU. I built a test version out of some very crappy PLA and it broke extremely easily. I don't think good PLA would do much better. The TPU version is quite strong. I had some problems printing (jams) and it turns out the filament is 1.65 dia not 1.75 which I think explains it (Priline TPU). The roll started out not bad, but I'm about 2/3 into it and it's not so good anymore so I think it was not so thin for the first half. Sigh.

I believe I used all M2.5x20mm screws to put this together but I may have used a few shorter ones here and there. You'll need approx 20. The holes are tight because TPU does not let the screws cut threads very well and I wanted it solid.
I hot glued the body panels to the cage and it seems ok so far. The ones I included are flat for printing with TPU. They don't really respond well to being screwed on, but if you want to try it, fill your boots. The ones in the picture are painted with spray bomb primer to see how well it sticks. So far so good but I kinda think it won't last. We shall see.
