A remix of the smiling volcano with a 150ml inside pocket for my kid presentation on volcano. This allows for 125ml of vinegar to be poured on top of 30ml sodium bicarbonate. V2 adds a 6mm hole for air to flow out while pouring
Funnel is same size as the internal chamber, so it can hold almost all the liquid, and be used for discussion. Spout is 2mm smaller than the volcano, so if fit nicely, and still large enough to get a good flow.
I would recommend washing quickly, I'm not sure of long term effect of vinegar on PLA.
We done first tests this morning, we find out a little less liquid gives a smoother volcano, here is the ingredient.
Place in the volcano:
1 full tablespoon of Sodium bicarbonate (Baklng Soda)
Mix together and then pour into the volcano
40ml water
4-5 drops of liquid soap
4-5 drop food colorant
While pouring the water in, make sure to wash away remaining of the soda from the funnel, you don't want the reaction in the funnel
Pour the vinegar in. You must be smooth enough to prevent splashing, but not so slow that the eruption starts before you are done. it should take 1-2 seconds to pour it. Remove the funnel immediately, but smoothly. The reaction will start in 2-3second, and last 5-10 seconds.
40 ml Vinegar
40ml of each liquids gives a smooth volcano, 60ml goes faster but is less interesting in my opinion. Try for yourself :) .
