This is a fan mount that I designed so that I could have mountable ventilation for my enclosed 3D printing case. I, like many others, 3D print inside my home. Unfortunately, I also 3D print next to where I sleep. So exposure to plastic particle emissions was not appealing.
I designed this part to mount both itself and the fan to the enclosure roof, without requiring any extra parts. This was the first time I played around with inlaid mounting features. You can use regular sheetrock screws to secure the mount to the enclosure you're using.
I printed the original Ventilation System V1 Mount using WoodPLA (https://www.amazon.com/HATCHBOX-3D-WOOD-1KG1-75-Filament-Dimensional/dp/B01092XXD4/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1477354779&sr=8-1&keywords=wood+pla+hatchbox&linkCode=sl1&tag=todayinspace-20&linkId=c6e1fc607cece64084637c2e7c964d7a)
The fan is available on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/140mm-25mm-New-AC-Fan-Kit-110V-115V-120VAC-154CFM-Cooling-Ball-Bg-Cabinet-1411-/381313939504) I went for the 154 cfm model because the ~70 cfm model didn't not have enough airflow for ABS with my setup.
Happy #3dprinting!
