Vanguard Fleet X14 Transatmospheric Reconnaissance Fighter

One of the very first Transatmospheric Single-Operator Fighter Vehicles produced for Vanguard Fleet, the X14 borrowed on the principle design of a planet-bound reconnaissance craft employed by humans several centuries earlier. The X14, however, was much smaller, over three times faster, and far more maneuverable and deadly. Armed with eight medium range and sixteen short range missiles and dual bottom-mounted plasma cannons, the X14 had unprecedented range and firepower for its time. The latest version, the X14K was also equipped with a pair of long-range lasers in the nose and a prototype force-field generator and first generation stealth shielding rendering it practically invisible except to highly-focused sensor arrays.
