U.S.S. Persephone (hypothetical) Miranda-class Type: cruiser Operator: UFP Starfleet Active: n/a Decks: 11 Length: approximately 275 meters Capacity: 595 humanoids Max. Speed: warp 7.7 Max. Cruising speed: warp 7.3 Armament: phasers (x6 dual phaser banks); photon torpedoes (x2 torpedo tubes) Defenses: deflector shields ======================================== Service History This is a hypothetical rendering the Constitution-class U.S.S. Persephone as an early-type Miranda-class starship. Starship Background Used primarily as a science vessel, transport and escort vessel, the Miranda-class was a versatile breed of starship that saw use in the UFP for more than a century, undergoing numerous refits and overhauls. The earliest Miranda-class vessels were notable for their unique overlapping deflector grid and specialized subspace sensor pod (which could sometimes also be equipped with two photon torpedo launchers). Model Background My take on a TOS-style Miranda-class, built mostly using components from my Connie model. I didn't really spend a whole lot of time building this model, and I'm not likely to spend much more time on it. I think the profile turned out really, really nice... but the aft end of the ship just doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm unsure of how I'd go about fixing it. (Starship information is derived partially from Memory Alpha and/or Memory Beta, and from my own imagination.) #Miranda #Mirandaclass #Star_Trek #Starship
