2402. The Federation has commissioned a ship to go where no one from the galaxy has ever gone...The Andromeda Galaxy, 2 million light years away. The scientists of the Federation came together, and after 14 years in research, this ship was comissioned. It uses state of the art warp engines, capable of maintaining a speed of warp 9.999 indefinitely. The journey time: 80 years. Other info: -A crew of 550 Humans, Klingons, Romulans Vulcans and many other species (however the majority, some 295, are human) with a ratio of 1:1 of Males and Females. -Each of the crews or couples quarters are smaller than conventional quarters, as they are each holographic suites, to reduce boredom on the long voyage. -There are 2 brigdes; The Command Bridge, and the Tactical Bridge. -Armed with 11 type XIII phaser arrays, and 8 quantum torpedo tubes. -There are 140 escape pods, capable of carrying and sustaining a maximum of 5 crew members. each pod can travel at warp 3.5 individually, however they have the capability to connect, by doing so 5 connected pods can reach warp 9.9, and 10 can achieve hourly bursts of 9.99. If over 100 pods combine to form a spherical shape, they can reach warp 9.999 for a few days at a time. Pods also contain stasis seats, to preserve crewmembers, if an emergency return voyage is necessary. -There are 10 shuttlecraft, each capable of warp 9.99.
