This custom lens housing is optimized for "SLR magic 18mm f2.8 CINE(Sony E mount)".
My personal impression of this lens is that it is a small, inexpensive manual ultra-wide angle lens, and best of all, it can attach directly to a digital mirrorless camera without an adapter. Personally, the optical performance wasn't very satisfactory, but considering the price it's a bit convincing. Above all, it is impressive for its very sturdy build quality and heavy and stable manual operation.
Since this lens housing is a lens for digital mirrorless cameras, it is designed for compact wide-angle lenses with very short flange back distances. In the meantime, the outer diameter of the lens housing and the outer diameter of the focus gear had to be reduced in consideration of characteristics that are slightly different from the vintage lens housings for SLR cameras. (It is unfortunate that it did not maintain the same dimensions and focus gear position consistent with other cinematic housings)
It is designed to maintain the size of the filter thread on the front of the lens 82mm or 95mm. (I wanted to increase the usability by maintaining the same standard as other cinema housings)
I never thought of sharing the file in the first place, and I thought I would use it for personal use only. For that reason, there is no video for this part because 3D printing and the process of assembling the housing were not captured. (However, since it is not very different from the existing lens housing, I think it can be replaced by referring to the previous video)
Since it is an 18mm ultra-wide-angle lens, to prevent vignetting from occurring, the front step-up ring is 62-67mm, 67-82mm,(or 62-72mm & 72mm-82mm) and 82-95mm. The 82-95mm step-up ring can be omitted and an 82mm filter can be fitted.
Other required parts are M4 x 4mm grub screws (13 pcs). The assembly sequence may be a little confusing, but let's think about it with a quiz and solve it.
File sharing is for sharing ideas. Use it for personal use only. Commercial use is not permitted.
