I know I haven't posted anything since forever, but it's for a reason. My Dad and I are working on a book about an old highway that passes through my city, Seattle. It's Route 66's coastal counterpart, Route 99. It was commissioned the same year as Route 66 (1926) and ran from Blaine, Washington at the Canadian border to Calexico, California at the Mexican Border. From 1913 to 1926, it was the Pacific Highway Auto Trail. The highway was decommissioned in 1964 after Interstate 5 replaced it. The book my Dad and I are working on will cover US Route 99 in the 1950's in a travel log fashion, which means the book is intended to be used as a means of navigating the remaining highway sections.
