This OpenSCAD object is based on the same mechanism as my "sea growth." I adjusted the stalks to be like broad, pointed leaves, bunched together at the bottom. The result looked like a flower missing a central stalk -- or maybe the leaves around the stem of the flower -- and that suggested placing something in the middle. Rather than add to the object itself I thought a candle would look great there, so I carved out a cylinder to hold a candle.
I called it "tulip" as an analogy for that flower's leaves and not the flower itself.
At the height I've selected (4 inches) a 12-inch candle seems to fit perfectly (a shorter candle looks a bit too stubby to me).
OpenSCADers can add extra "leaves" beyond the 7 I have here by adjusting "n," but note that this will open a small hole in the bottom. Otherwise, varying between 3 and 11 all seems to produce useful results. I prefer odd numbers; even numbers are a little too symmetrical for me. I've added a 5-leave version of this object in yellow.
