Trump International Tower is Chicago's Newest landmark. Desighned by Adrian Smith and Built at the location where the chicago river slightly bends, it is truly Chi towns newest gem. In 2001, Billionare Donald Trump anncounced his plans to build a 1,500 foot skyscraper where the Chicago Sun Times building stood. It would have been the worlds tallest, had it been built. After the tragic events of 9/11 Trump scaled down his project to 1,362 feet, still massivly tall. In 2005, the Sun Times building was torn down and the groundbreaking began. as of November 2008 the tower is still underconstruction, with the spire and interior to be completed. The buildings desighn consists of four main tower, each on setting back and become more slender, as not to overpower the neighboring buildings like the wrigley building. This is considered highly gratious of Trump.
