So this has come about mostly becasue of this idea https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2600272 of the micro adjustment the default fit ment is lousey and impossible to tighten and adjust. i printed it but could not get it to go together well and prefered not to go back to the standard extruder fan mount, ive been using the extruder fan mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2341547 where i can lift the fan in and out if i have filament issues ( rarely thank god) and wanted to combine both of these great ideas.
i set about a mock up using the original parts of both but frankenstiened together and it still failed on the adjuster part i found it too thing and fragile with not enough tollerance for a machine which isnt producing perfect prints, so i redesigned the adjust from scratch using straing block edges and allowing a resonable mm gap for the sliding part, it uses a bed level screw M3 and a left of ver nut from the origanl kit and any spring from a ball point pen and finally the thumbscrew was too fat so i used the one from the bed level Thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2350276 as its thiner and prints nicely.
so someone elses ideas with a few tweaks and mods plus a redesign all parts printable as seperate STL files or the whole lot on one STL adviseable to only print the main body with supports if needed but you can just about get away with zero support, print items as the land on your slider for best performance.
on the slding block part
the large hole goes at the bottom and should consume the screw head you may need to drill out slightly depending on how accurate your printer is, the slots at the rear are for the nuts to sit in.
happy to recieve feedback
