Background:
I built the original Trav (Terra Roving Autonomous Vehicle) back in 2015. It was built on an a hobby grade rc electric 4x4 truck.
Goal:
The goal is to not only have a functional rover, but to make it strong enough to go crawling with my buds. This is proving to be more difficult than first thought because of the known abuse the crawlers take and the diverse terrain they drive in. This is from mud to water to rock crawling and everything in between.
Trav 2.0 will have autonomous with obstacle avoidance as well as human control capabilities with planned GPS support as well. It is designed around the NASA Curiosity Rover (minus the MMRTG power plant of course :) ) It will have independent 6 wheel drive and 4 wheel steering. 3 steering modes and the rocker bogie suspension. 3S battery will power Trav.
