So, my gf needed a case for her lenses, but we found none (or no cool one), which she
could just drop into her backpack when not in use.
And so i went and took the lenscap from babr, and the threaded container from Engineering_Aesthetics, throw both together, and adjusted to the needed height.
Actually there is one bottom part, which should fit for every lens there is, except the more wider ones (just measure it out, the max inner space is around 66mm because of the thread).
On the bottom of the bottom part i included the rear-lenscap-adapter from babr; so you can just take it of your camera, screw it into the bottom, and should not have to worry about dust getting into your lens. And for final protection, just screw the top onto that.
I have included two top parts, which are for the Kit Lens of the olympus micro four thirds, the Zuiko 14-42, and for the zoom Zuiko 40-150.
I included a bit wiggle room on top and sides, so you can add a bit foam into it.
You can simply edit the files for your lens, if both shouldnt fit.
I have cut down the bottom part from the original files a lot, for two reasons:
a) needs fewer material, so you can print it faster
b) you can screw your lens better into the bottom
I have also cut the threads in the top part down, so you dont have to print a complete case full of thread you would never use.
Disclaimer: im no engineer, and if you break your precious lens because the case doesnt hold to whatever youre doing with it: im not to blame.
This is just meant for dropping a lens into a padded backpack, with no harsh enviromental stress in mind.
EDIT: my better half had just now the idea of glueing both cases together, so she doesnt have 2 cases flying around in her backpack and banging at each other, and so i did!
It looks like a fancy coffee pot now!
Also i added the foam finally, so now the lenses are really safe!
