Tower
This is a tower and base that I designed for use with the Gaslands tabletop game. It's 20ft/6m high at 1/64 scale and my purpose was for use in pairs for gates. It's not a perfect scale model, accurate in every detail. Rather, it was designed to look pretty good while being modular and easy to assemble. The two main parts are the Tower Supports and the Tower Base. The Tower Tops are meant for mounting things to the top and come in two forms - supported and unsupported. The unsupported one will slip right down the middle of the tower while the supported one has a lip that prevents it. There are also 3 different very simple PA loudspeakers that make good additions to the towers, just to give them a little something extra. I plan to model some more modern PA speaker arrays later.
The 3 tower supports sides fit into slots in the base for quick assembly. I glue the sides into to base and the edges to each other.
I chose to laser cut my sides for reasons of efficiency as opposed to printing them, which also works fine. If you're not printing, material that is about 1mm thick is ideal for the sides (the slots in the base are 1.4mm in the model). The file TowerSupports.stl can be used for laser cutting. Dimensions of the object (3 tower sides) is 94x49mm.
The loudspeakers in my example photo are mounted using pieces of paperclips that happened to be on my bench. Again, the idea was a quick build rather than a perfect model. Put it down to craftsmanship taking a massive plunge in post apocalyptic society.
The gate spans are made of insulated 12awg solid-core wire and styrene.
