Wanted to make one of these for my Desk at work but wanted it to do a little more than just light up. Tested with some blue LEDs and found out needed a bit more to look right. Used 1Watt Blue High Power LEDs. With the higher current had to add transistors and since each light needs to be controlled separately I ended up with 11 different LED channels. Controlled by an Arduino Nano. I needed a place for all of the electronics to hide and after re-watching the first Iron Man Movie noticed they used an adjustable power source to first light the Arc reactor Mr. Strak built in the cave. Thought it would be cool to model that in Fusion 360 and use it to contain all of my electronics.
Check out Video that shows the adjustable spin effect on the LEDs.

Really neat project and printed really well on my Duplicator I3.
