nigeljohnson73 made a great timelapse harness, but it only worked with the Raspberry Pi Camera Module version 1, so I made a version that worked with the RPi Camera Module v2.1
Then, I decided that I wanted to try and secure his timelapse harness to something. I have a few mic stands kicking around, and they have a standard US head (5/8"-27). So I worked this adapter up in Fusion 360, which has (on the short side) the mic stand threads, and on the long-side (to accommodate the bolts), the timelapse harness threads. After much trial and error, I figured out that the timelapse harness threads are a standard M16x2.0 metric.
I almost made a support piece/hook ("hook_front_v2.stl") which connects the harness to the FlashForge Creator Pro (2016 edition), but when I tried to connect it using the harness, a piece, and gaffers tape, it jiggled around too much. So having the camera external to the unit is preferable for now. I may make the support piece/hook later but, probably not an itch I need to scratch at the moment.
I think the next thing I'm going to create an adapter for is for a standard tripod/camera head.
I think it may now be time to print a Baby Groot!
