Solid timber side chair. This is an apprentice training project used at Melbourne Polytechnic. The project addresses the competence Leg and rail construction The back legs are cutout on the CNC with the rest of the chair hand shaped using basic static machines and hand tools. A drop in upholstered seat can be added on completion of the polishing of the chair. A combination of dowels and loose tenons is used to ensure the joinery doesn't intersect inside the back legs.
