This housing is designed for the Folger Tech FT-5 in the lower right front corner to replace the stock melamine part. It should be usable on other printers built with 2020 type extrusion though. I liked RamonSeda's 2004 SMART DISPLAY 2020 MOUNT (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1894809), but I wanted one that could be tilted up and down. I also was looking for a little more varied mounting options for a future printer project.
This housing can be mounted on the top, bottom, left, or right by turning or printing a mirrored version of the bracket. It will tilt up or down to make it easier to see the display and it fully encloses the pcb to provide better protection. The reset button is recessed a bit to prevent it from being accidentally pushed.
The stock cables were barely long enough - it would be good to replace them with longer cables if possible, but not required. The cables are routed through the bracket into the housing where they connect to the pcb. I'm using the stock knob for now. I may print a new one later.
I used the stock 5mm hardware to attach the bracket to the frame. I purchased a #10-32 threaded rod from Menards and glued it into the shaft with about 3/4" or so sticking out the end to thread a nut onto. (I used a knurled nut also from Menards) To assemble the front and back together, I used #4 x 1" long screws through the back and pcb into the front.
The SolidWorks files are included if you would like to modify it.
