Introduction
I made these to replace my IKEA cable runners, which got ruined after a while by our vacuum cleaner running over them every day. Our vacuum cleaner (iRobot Roomba 960) easily clears these runners and after 10 weeks+ they are still intact.
Print Settings
I use Cura and printed these with the special mode setting "Spiralize outer contour" which makes these a bit springy when assembled. Allowing the cables, not the runners, to bear the load. It also makes them print much faster. Print them on their ends and set bottom layers to 0, use an adequate brim for adhesion.
If you want to print these at a different height, you can turn off scaling and resize the part in one direction. This will allow you to adapt them to your own home.
Assembly and installation
The pieces snap together, don't worry if the rear of the top of the runner lifts off a bit from the bottom bit, it will become flush when you install this on the floor. I used double sided tape to first install the bottom runner on the floor. Next steps are to insert the cables and assemble the top bit which is a cinch.
Pay attention to what tape you use, I had issues with an ordinary cellophane type, double sided tape which didn't stick to my printed parts. You can improve adhesion by going over the relevant surface with sand paper, or you can use glue or a different type of tape.
