Canterbury FC play in the blue-square south. They were relegated from the conference last year, but they still generate 2000+ attendances most weeks. The club is in serious need of relocation. Thistleoaks is a small stadium located about a mile west of the city centre. See the link below for map. The Terrance (north) capacity is 570. For most games this is used by the home side spectators. The East (Rosebush Park) stand holds 1211, 520 of which is away. The west stand holds just a bit less because of 3 wheelchair spaces, only 1205. Additional wheelchairs can fit in any of the corners. The ground features a unique design, the clubhouse and facilities all being at one end and the tunnel being in the end stand. The south stand capacity is 764. The overall capacity is 3,750 (3180 seated) plus additional wheelchairs. Last year, in a home FA cup 2nd round game against Milwall, a capacity crowd was expected. Canterbury had already beaten Chesterfield away in round 1. A temporary entrance was made in the south-east corner, and this entrance was given to the away fans, who were allocated the entire east stand. A temporary terrance was constructed in the south-west corner adding 200 to the capacity, and seats were put on a temporary bank in the north-west, adding another 50 to the capacity. The game was all ticket, although some were sold at the gate. The game finished 4-0 to Milwall, with a 3,612 attendance.
